Over the Pond for the 2nd Time

Well last night I crossed the pond for the second time.  Paul drove me to the airport and I arrived very early.  I was quite relaxed knowing that I didn't have to worry about being late so I just sat around, had a drink and something to eat and watched the people go by.  AirForce One was in Ottawa today with the President for the Three Amigo's Summit so there were lots of security walking around in regular clothing but some of them were pretty easy to pick out.  Flight to Toronto was a bit delayed but arrived on time.

Amazing how big the Toronto Airport is and how long of a walk it was from arrival to departure to Amsterdam.  Had enough time to find my gate and watch the craziness when they try to load two planes at the same time at gates right beside one another (one to Coppenhagen and one to Amsterdam).  People were really confused.  I flew on an Airbus which was very comfortable as I had the extra leg room.  I was at the window seat and only two seats were in my row.  I shared the flight over with a young gentleman going to visit his friends in Amsterdam.  He had gone back to school and was getting his MBA and had these few days off so he flies back on Sunday.

A little blurry but I tried to get all the bicycles parked.
Arriving in Amsterdam the plane was a little early so the plane waited for about 15 minutes or so.  By the time I found where to get luggage and go through a very menial security check and find a taxi I was pretty tired.  The drive downtown was long and I felt like I could just sleep in the van.  Hotel is very nice and located right downtown with lots of things going on.  Arriving at the hotel lobby and just getting ready to check in I met Fred and Betty in the lobby.  So very nice to see such friendly faces upon arrival.  There were a few other posse riders as well that I am sure I will get to know later on.

Room is nice for an older hotel with two twin beds that I separated as much as I could so when Connie arrives we won't be on top of each other.  I am getting ready to hit the sites and get something to eat!  Hoping to see some more posse riders downstairs!!
Helmet all blinded and ready to go!!
