Amsterdam to Bremin, Germany

Don Moir preparing another DVD for 2016!
This morning was the first ride!  Woo hoo but first we had to get out of the parking garage.  I hate parking garages - slippery floors - sharp corners (especially hate right hand turns with walls so close)!  Oh well after a stop going up the hill as my bike wanted to be in a race just coming off the clutch I was able to make it up and out of the parking garage!  Everyone lined up down the next street so that we could all stay together and make sure everyone was out of the garage safely.

Driving through the City of Amsterdam first thing on a Sunday morning after hearing all the partying last night all night long was nice and quiet.  Once we departed the city we took some small roads that run along the dykes and some of the cottages or houses along that route were truly amazing.  People were running, walking and biking up on the ridges of the dyke and seem to be enjoying life to the fullest.  Some were happy to see us roaming through their country side while others were not so much!  I am pretty sure that over 130 motorcycles passing by were not a quiet site at 9:00 am on a Sunday!

We eventually came to a stop where we split into the designated groups to ride for the rest of the day. I was with Bunny and Boop (Mich and Margo).  There were no incidents during the day and we didn't lose anyone along the way.  Today mostly was about riding some highways and then some smaller highways which sometimes took us into a little village but mostly we bypassed them.  It was scenic riding with lots of forests but after the party last night most of us were getting tired early on.

Lunch was at a larger centre where we were sent off to find food and be back in an hour.   There is not much open on a Sunday and they don't expect a large contingent of bikers coming in to eat either. Later in the afternoon I saw this piece of the bike fly past my head and I thought what was that?  Like - really!  After asking a few people to see if they could see anything missing it seemed like I was never going to find out what it was but once parked for the afternoon snack and bio-break I figured it out - it was the front vent decorative capping on the bike that has gone missing.  I was beginning to think I had lost my mind but knew I had not as the couple behind me also saw it fly off.  Our little cafe was great - they had two people working and were able to feed the ones that stayed there great food and on time which is important as you don't want to be left behind.

Later in the afternoon we stopped at this very nice restaurant about 30 minutes from the hotel and they served us coffee, tea or pop while we relaxed and got caught up again.  We arrived at 7:00 or so to the hotel and everything was in order - park bikes, get luggage, get keys and then go get ready for supper for 8:00 pm.  Supper was a buffet of more good food and the first drink of the night was included which was awesome!

AFter supper had another beer and had lots of laughs with a great bunch of people and then headed back upstairs to complete the blog for the night and go to sleep.  Another great day lies ahead and I am looking forward to another great ride!
