Hirtshals, Denmark to Oslo, Norway

Today we left early for the ferry as we had to make sure everyone was accounted for and all bikes got on board.  The ferry was just like a cruise ship (well okay not quite!). It was beautiful - lots of seats and places to sleep.  A few people including myself took advantage of the four hour ferry ride to get a little sleep.

Dyke and Don enjoying a nap.

The Oslo Harley Davidson HOG Chapter met us at the ferry and escorted us to the dealership taking us on beautiful windy roads..  Everyone had smiles on their faces as we were going around corner after corner.  We stopped at a Viking monument that was a mound on the ground which apparently had a Viking ship in it along with some artifacts when the area was excavated.  We left there in hopes of beating the rain as we could see it coming over the hills.  As the men were able to use the facilities behind some hay bales close by the ladies had the opportunity to stop at a gas station and it was just in time to get in out of the rain and put our "wets" on!  (Rain gear).  It rained maybe for 10 minutes and then was sunny the rest of the trip to the parking lot where all groups gathered to go the dealer together as one group.  It was pretty awesome watching all the bikes on the highway for approximately 40 km.

Arriving at the dealer we were served a beautiful supper and soft drinks. There were tables all set up outside to mingle and eat at.  Then we of course went into the dealer to check out the goodies.  I picked up anothe shot glass along with a pin for my vest.

We left the dealers by 8:30 and headed to the hotel.  The hotel ride was very nice.  We travelled through a number of tunnels, up winding roads and passed a Hells Angels House on the way to the hotel.  After parking the bikes and getting luggage and keys I decided to head to the bar for a drink as the elevators were lined up with people trying to get to their rooms.  I was lucky enough to have my beer bought for me as a thank you for doing my blog!  Thank you for the beer!  I enjoy doing the blog and keeping everyone informed that I am still alive!

Tomorrow we do some local rides with some chapter members to the Fjords.  I am looking forward to  and amazing ride tomorrow.
