Amsterdam - Day 2

Today I toured around Amsterdam.  While walking around we came across the #1 Fry Place in Amsterdam - so I had to try them.  Thick fries - I have to say different - really not to my liking but Connie helped me finish them off.

Connie and I took a Canal Tour - "Tour like a Local" - very well done by our guide Ellen.  Toured through all the canals and Ellen told us about the different areas - Gentlemen's Canal where Brad Pitt has an apartment.  Emporer's Canal and Prince Canal - very nice. The boats that line the canal people live in and are considered to be a sign of wealth.  Some of them are quite old from the original "hippie" days and others are quite modern.  The homes along the canal we very narrow as the taxes that are paid to the local government are based on the width of your house!  That is why they are tall and skinny!  Interesting way of taxation which is obviously done by frontage.

Today I met so many more Posse Rider's that have returned from 2014 EPR.  It was great to see friendly faces and catch up on how everyone is doing.

Tonight was the pre-party at the Harley Davidson Dealer in Amsterdam.  A bus picked everyone up at 6:30 and took us to the dealer for supper, drinks, music and to watch the Football game between Berlin and Wales.  It is exciting to watch the game with such passionate supporters of their country.

Heading to bed at 11:45 and all I can hear outside is partying.  The bars must stay open until at least 4:00 as last night I could hear some shouting and partying until about that time and then it was quiet.

Tomorrow is registration and I get my rental bike.  There are still many people I have not seen yet and look forward to catching up and meeting the whole group.
